Description and characteristics of the Snowshoe
The Snowshoe's main characteristic is the beautiful silky white hair, in contrast to the darker color of its ears, tail and face mask, which covers its compact feet, like small boots, hence its name which translates as "snow shoe". The Snowshoe has a muscular and powerful body of medium to large size. It is also recognizable with its well-developed cheeks and ears, rounded at the tips and placed on the sides of its head. This cat has large eyes, quite wide apart, of an intense blue. It also has a long tail with a lot of hair.

The
Snowshoe is native to the United States, and more precisely to Philadelphia.
His ancestor is the Siamese, from whom he has inherited traits such as
curiosity and his desire to be at the center of all attention. It is a race
which was obtained after several generations thanks to crossings between the
Siamese and the American Shorthair bicolor. The Snowshoe has been recognized as
a breed in its own right since 1983. It is very widespread in the United
States, but rare on other continents.
